卧薪尝胆这个故事想必大家已经耳熟能详了。吴越两国交战，越国战败，越王勾践沦为阶下囚，成为了吴王的马夫，受尽了污辱。勾践在回到越国之后，立下大志势必要报此仇，攻打吴国，并且付出了努力，励精图治任用贤才，始终没有忘记誓言，最终攻打吴国，实现了自己的大志，成为春秋时期最后一个霸主。
正是因为勾践心中有志向，并且为之付出了努力，他才能一雪前耻，成为了胜者。
并不是古代有志者事竟成的事例很多，近代体现这一观点的人也不少。
外国人能做到的，中国人也能做到！这不是一时的豪言壮语，而是詹天佑心中的志向。那时的中国饱受帝国主义国家的欺压，列强纷纷抢夺京张铁路的建造权，最后请政府决定由中国人建造。这一决定受到了外国人的耻笑，然而就在这种时候，詹天佑站出来了，他顶着压力和耻笑，坚守心中的志向克服了千难万苦，终于建成了第一个由中国人主持修建的京张铁路。

纵观历史长河，有志而成大事者，比比皆是。
战国时候，正值兵荒马乱的年代，各国诸侯争霸。在齐、楚、秦、燕、赵、魏、韩七雄争霸中，秦国兵力最强，最后统一了全国。一统天下的是秦国的国君嬴政。嬴政生在这个乱世，知道风起云涌的战场吞噬了多少将士的鲜血和生命，体会到战争给百姓造成的伤害，他十分难受，想让百姓走出水深火热的生活。于是，他便立下大志，就是让国家强大，一统七国，让百姓安居乐业。嬴政每天勤于政事、操练军队，使国家富强。用了十年的时间，嬴政终于完成了千秋大业——合并七国，一统天下，成为历史上第一个皇帝！
还有就是东汉时期的司马迁，他忍辱负重为哪般？司马迁从小立志：完成父亲的遗愿，写一部从黄帝到汉武帝时间的史书。司马迁是个正直的人，因为劝诫汉武帝而得罪了汉武帝，受到了宫刑。他受了宫刑后，曾经想过去死，但想到自己未完成的作品，他坚强起来，在狱中写下了这部历史名著——《史记》。《史记》记载了从黄帝到汉武帝时期3000年的历史，长达三十万余字，被鲁迅成为“史家之绝唱，无韵之离骚”。
还有一个例子。在第五次反“围剿”失败后，红军被迫撤出中央革命根据地，实行战略转移。长征一开始，红军经过英勇奋战，连续突破敌人四道封锁线，渡过湘江，但人员损失过半。遵义会议后，毛泽东领导红军采取机动灵活的战术，迂回穿插于敌人重兵之间，四渡赤水河，打乱了敌人的追剿计划，然后又急于行军巧渡金沙江，摆脱了几十万敌军的围追堵截。在彝族人民的帮助下，顺利通过大凉山地区。接着又强渡大渡河，飞夺泸定桥，翻过高耸入云的大雪山，通过荒无人烟、一望无际的草地，终于在1935年10月到达陕甘宁革命根据地的吴起镇，同陕北红军胜利会师。1936年10月，红军三大主力在甘肃会宁会师，宣告二万五千里长征胜利结束。

我的成长故事，在三年级下学期时，每当我测验或考试总是粗心大意考到九十九分。
经过一切的经历，我都没有一百分，于是我拼命发奋，早上六点钟起床读书读到六点四十五分，晚上八点到九点也读书并再背一些重点知识，后来过了一段日子，我有一段美好的收获了。
在语文拿了93分，数学100分，英语90分，我觉得还不够，既然这次数学100分，我就先努力数学，因为100分中的数学，我们班除了我还有刘炜锶。
回到家，我继续加倍复习，并做些练习题，父子老师说的重点难点，很快我们就迎接测验了。
这次的测验真是令人惊讶，我虽然也考了99分，只是漏了个单位‘个’字，可是我拿了全班数学第一，以后我全部科目也要努力向上了，老师说得对；虽然只是一个低分，而不是100分，也拿到第一名，谁也可能第一名，只看你有没付出，同时我明白了有志者事竟成的道理，一份耕田，一分收获，我相信有付出就有收获，在每个人的付出后结果，你就可能100分，也可能第一名，皇天不负有心人……！

钢琴学校推荐我参加第六届香港国际音乐节，老师帮我选的参赛曲目是《二月-狂欢节》，也是九级的考级曲目，难度比较大。由于四年级学习任务重，课内课外的作业非常多，压得我喘不过气来，很难挤出时间来练琴。
离比赛日期越来越近了，我的曲子还没有练好，心里别提多着急了，像掉进了冰窟窿，感觉一点希望也没有了。我的心中闪过一个念头：放弃吧！实在不想练琴了！我不由自主地说了出来。妈妈听到了，愣了一下，我暗叫不妙，她肯定又要狠狠地训斥我了。谁知，她深呼吸之后，耐心地说：“你已经练了五年钢琴了，现在放弃多可惜呀！再说，遇到困难就放弃，什么事情都做不好。”看得出来，妈妈是强压着满腔的怒火，和平常发脾气大吼的样子判若两人。“你已经长大了，不是小孩子了，我希望你慎重考虑一下，到底是赌气不想弹了？还是真正下定决心了，要永远放弃钢琴？这件事情你自己来做决定。”我被妈妈的话语深深地触动了，其实我自己也舍不得，学了五年，我对钢琴有了深厚的感情，钢琴就像是一个好朋友，在我开心、难过、孤独的时候陪伴着我。
