竞赛内容：

比赛。比赛前参赛人员集中进行抽签，按抽签序号确定比赛顺序。

the united states public health service is issuing continual warnings to smokers. if they abstain completely from smoking, their chances of acquiring lung cancer will be one in 275. their chances of dying of lung cancer will be one in 10 if they become heavy
smokers─two or more packs a day. lung cancer is fatal in 95 per cent of all cases.
but in spite of glaring evidence and frequent warnings, the public is smoking more and more. the department of agriculture
estimates that this year's consumption of cigarettes will reach 180 packs per person fifteen years of age and over. how many cigarettes does this mean per person?─3600.
why is smoking such an important problem? because smoking is not a mere habit, as so many think it is. no, it is more serious than that. a habit can be broken easily enough, but an addiction cannot. smokers lapse into helplessness! daniel schubert, of the university of chicago, quizzed 226 students at a large northwestern college about their smoking habits─why they started, what satisfaction they got, and if they wanted to stop. according to schubert, they wanted to quit smoking; but they couldn't.
if one is addicted to cigarettes, he is dependent upon them physically, as well as psychologically. what is it, if it is not
addiction, that motivates a man to go out in sub-zero weather to buy a pack of cigarettes? if necessary, he will drive ten miles late at night to find an open drugstore. what is it, if it is not addiction, that makes a moocher of an otherwise charming young girl?
i was talking to a professor not long ago who had just quit smoking. he told me what most of you already know─that once the
habit is started, watch out! it is next to impossible to stop smoking. i asked him how he ever managed to quit when he had been smoking over a pack a day for ten years. listen to his story.
"well, i cut down to one-half pack a day for the first week. i was touchy most of the time. the slightest irritation made my nerves jangle and my head want to explode. the next week i smoked five cigarettes a day and had an even worse case of nerves. then the following week i chewed gum and sucked on mints, candy, and pipe stems. frankly, i wasn't sure from one moment to the next if i could keep going. somehow i made it."
many of you know what this professor is talking about; you, too, have tried to break the addiction, but have failed. in the few
minutes we have here today we can analyze the motives at the root of our smoking problem.

赛制 组织形式
2014“梦想杯”英语演讲比赛各赛区决赛冠军名选手参加总决赛。 初赛和复赛由各高校承办单位自行组织，但要将选手的参赛**或现场**，以及选手vcr报送大赛组委会秘书处备案。 参赛资格
全川具有高等学历教育招生资格的普通高等学校在校本、专科学生、研究生（不包括在职研究生），35 岁以下，中国国籍。曾获得往届“梦想杯”英语演讲比赛奖项的选手不包括在内。如果学校还没有成立组委会，你也可以到附近的大学报名参加比赛。
比赛方式
初赛 组织方式：各参赛学校作为初赛赛点，由该校承办单位实施，可向本校外语院（系）或大学外语教学部寻求协助与支持。
参赛资格：每个初赛赛点应有不少于20人参赛。各竞赛点应确保学校符合条件的学生有公平的机会申请竞赛。
比赛时间：根据最终赛程，确保在决赛前完成预赛和第二轮。
比赛：包括固定话题演讲、即兴演讲、答疑等部分。可参考大赛决赛形式。 演讲题目：定题演讲可参考大赛决赛题目，也可自定。即兴演讲题目自定。
法官组成：法官人数不得少于3人。赛前召开评委会，讨论实施评分标准，确保比赛的规范、公平、公正。可参考决赛评分标准。

（1） 竞赛内容：首先进行命题演讲（限时3分钟）。命题演讲结束后，评委提问1-2

（3） 比赛形式：选手按出勤时间顺序发言。
2. 决赛：
（1）参赛选手为初赛选出的前20名同学
（2）比赛由三部分组成：
a、 首先，做一个命题演讲（限于3分钟）。命题演讲结束后，评委提问1-2个问题，选手回答1分钟。（主题演讲的主题仍然是本次比赛的主题。）
b、 中场休息（前10名球员），观众互动
c、 即席演讲（选手30秒，答题2分钟）；即兴演讲是现场抽题现场回答。然后评委们用英语提问，可以是与主题有关的或是演讲者在演讲过程中涉及的问题或是评委感兴趣的问题，参赛者用英文回答。
附录 :
评委从演讲内容、语言表达、形象风格、综合印象四个方面对演讲者进行评分。满分为100分。评委打分后去掉一个最高分和一个最低分，汇总后取平均分，精确到小数点后两位，若出现同分，则精确到后三位，依此类推。
一、演讲内容：50分。演讲内容要与主题紧密相关，主题鲜明深刻，风格积极，语言自然流畅，富有真情实感。
二、语言表达：20分。稿件演讲要求声音洪亮，语调清晰，语速适中，表达流畅，激情澎湃。讲究演讲技巧，动作恰当。超时扣5分。

语言表达（40%）：要求发音、语调准确、流利、有感染力；综合印象（20%）：要求外形优雅，举止端庄，富有表现力，能灵活运用表情和肢体语言与观众交流。
3.参赛要求：
一。参赛者思维正确，作品积极，嗓音标准高。
2。选手具有一定的声音表达能力和丰富的感情。
三。演讲题目适合主题，内容积极，具有时代气息，体现当代大学生的风采。

5个。选手到达场馆后，应在报到处签到。比赛正式开始后15分钟未到者视为弃权。

7号。参赛者必须在比赛前15分钟入场，并找相关人员签到。
8、比赛顺序由抽签决定。
9号。比赛开始后，各参赛者不得无故退出比赛。
五、奖励事项：

六、比赛注意事项
1).所有选手必须按抽号顺序上台演讲，如无法按时参加比赛，则自动放弃比赛资格。
2). 在决赛演讲比赛中，若参赛选手在规定时间内不能完成演讲，评委在打分时将酌情扣分，最多扣除3分。

一、 活动目的：为贯彻落实教育部、财政部《关于实施高等学校本
科教学质量与教学改革工程的意见》及《教育部关于进一步深化本科教学改革全面提高教学质量的若干意见》精神，进一步促进我校英语教学质量的提高，更好地培养大学生学习的积极兴和兴趣，提高大学生的英语实际应用能力，并配合天津市第十四届大学生英语演讲竞赛暨2011年“外研社杯”全国英语演讲大赛，我校将继续举办第十四届大学生英语演讲竞赛。
二、活动基本准备：
（1） 比赛时间：预赛：2011年10月8日下午6:00决赛：2011年10月10日下午6:00
（2）活动规模及邀请对象：面向天津外国语大学涉外法政学院有意参加此次活动的同学。每个学生将带上5位亲友帮助选手通过预赛第四阶段
（3）演讲主题：“a word that has changed the world”。要求每位选手在本题目下加小标题。

4月6日上午，市第三届演唱比赛在明珠小学举行。孩子们那流利的口语，不时赢得在场师生们的阵阵掌声。
据悉，在我市，一般小学三年级就开设英语课，由于小学不需要统一考试，所以两年一届的英语演讲演唱比赛已经成为各个学校展示学生学习成果和教师交流经验的重要平台。
在现场，笔者看到，小选手们个个显得信心十足，无论是演讲还是演唱，都表演得维妙维肖。其中来自李家中心小学五(3)班的`陈悦同学获得了演讲组的第二名。赛后，陈悦告诉了笔者她的学习“秘诀”。刚开始，她也不怎么喜欢英语，因为老是记不住单词，后来，老师教她一个学英语的好办法，就是边做游戏边学习英语。譬如说，学音标的时候，老师在课堂上报出音标，让同学在字典中找，或者说出一个单词，让大家说出它的重音，又或者把学过的单词让同学做出动作，然后让另外的同学猜……当然，老师上课的时候，一定要认真地听，久而久之，陈悦从一个不怎么喜欢英语的孩子变成了班级里英语学习的佼佼者。陈悦说，兴趣是最好的老师，就像参加这次英语演讲比赛，她只是练习了几个星期，就已经非常熟悉故事内容，演讲时一点也不觉得紧张。

First of all, let me tell you a story that happened 2 years ago. At the end of August, 20xx, when I decided to come to Beijing for study, my friends hel* * **rewell Party for me. They said: after your graduation, you should look for a job in Beijing, and then in 20xx, we shall go to visit you during the Olympic Games. I laughed and answered: OK, no problem!

As we know, Beijing will host the 29th Summer Olympic Games in 20xx. As a Chinese, I think many people are thinking: what we can do for Beijing Olympic Games. Most of us are not athletes, we cannot take part in competitions directly; we are not officials either, we don't need to do the preparatory work. We are only ordinary people, what we can do!
There are still so many things we can do! For example, for me, I am a graduate majoring Business English. As far as I am concerned, I will keep on learning English hard, and apply for being a volunteer. I will use English to serve the Games together with other volunteers. And also, as a businessman at that time, I will avail myself of the great commercial opportunities that the Olympics brings to us, make more efforts to offer my contribution to the growth of our national economy.

With the goal to host a "People's Olympics", and in order to make our Olympics more attractive and to make our Beijing more beautiful, we shall help everyone we meet who needs help, we shall abide by traffic rules, don't smoke in public and no spitting. The most important way for our Chinese to support our Beijing Olympic Games, in my opinion, is to work hard on our duties.
